Building Development

I started my building with the entrance where i wanted to create a narrow space which lets minimal light enter but while still being big enough for the avatars to walk through.  At the end of the tunnel I have used a sculptie to create a slope which leads to the rest of the building.  The entrance is where the morphing and connection between spaces begins.

The entrance leads to the first two spaces - the space for the engineer and draftsman.

The morphing of spaces as well as the separation of spaces have been created by using sculpties which were created on 3DS Max.

I have scripted the panels first experimenting with the two transition spaces of the draftsman and engineer.  It has been scripted so that when it receives 'draftsman/engineer merge' the engineers space as well as the square roof panels will move.

The ceiling panels have been placed so that they are 5cm apart to allow only small slits of sunlight into the working spaces but they have been scripted eg. if the engineer wants light, when given the command 'engineer light', the panels will re-orientate themselves to allow a lot more sunlight into the space.
The image below is a perspective view of the ceiling panels when giving the command for more light to enter the building.

The images below show the other transition spaces being created.  The spaces have been carefully place so that they can morph with the colleagues they will need to have meetings with.  I still need to create my own textures.

Each space has been scripted with different commands in order for light to be given to different spaces depending on which colleagues need it and depending on which colleagues need to have meetings.
