The 5 Colleagues

I have mapped services relating to the characteristics and the necessities for each colleague whether it be just something they need/want or whether it is something relating to their profession.  All the services are within 10minutes walking distance from the site which is situated in the lookout between Anzac Ave and Beach Rd.

The architect will be doing a lot of work and will need coffee all the time which is why the service needed is the BB's coffee shop as marked on the map.  The mechanic will only be able to do theoretical work or small items of practical work and have meetings with his colleague in the office therefore there is a mechanics workshop nearby on Beach Rd which will give more space that the mechanic needs.  The engineers service is more of a personal need.  The engineer doesn't live near a supermarket therefore the Countdown on Quay St is a necessity for the engineer after or before work but as well as the supermarket there is the Britomart Carpark next door.  The engineer is the lottery winner and therefore has a brand new car which needs to be parked in a clean and safe new place which is close enough to the office.  The draftsman needs a printing service close by to make copies/scans/enlargements/reductions of plans and therefore will need one close by which is easily accessible at all times.  The sculptor will need a space to display a lot of works or to place items of works which have been completed or put on hold to be stored.

I have thought about the order and the structure of the spaces according to the needs of each colleague when they are working.  The draftsman and the engineer do not like so much light therefore they have been placed closest to the entrance where the building starts off with darkness, next is the architect and mechanic and the sculptor likes a lot of light when working with his works.  Therefore is placed closes to the exit or back entrance where the spaces have transitioned from darkness towards light.
